Treatment for Skin Conditions

Board-Certified Allergists Serving the Atlanta Metro Area

Our highly-qualified medical team at the Center for Allergy and Asthma of Georgia specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions in addition to our expert treatment of asthma, allergies and sinus conditions. Skin conditions are often inherited traits, but may also be the result of certain allergic triggers.

At the Center for Allergy and Asthma of Georgia, our board-certified specialists perform a variety of medical tests to determine the root cause of skin conditions. In our metro Atlanta area offices, we provide ongoing treatment and support of various skin conditions, including:

  • Eczema: Our board-certified specialists offer relief for dry, itchy skin caused by the chronic condition eczema, or atopic dermatitis.
  • Hives: We determine the allergic triggers that cause hives and offer medical support to reduce allergic reactions.
  • Contact Dermatitis: Our Metro Atlanta allergy and asthma specialists consider many factors when diagnosing contact dermatitis, and provide relief from this allergic reaction.

In June 2019, the FDA approved Dupixent® (dupilumab) to be used for the treatment of moderate to severe asthma and pediatric eczema with chronic sinusitis. This type of medication works by blocking a protein called an interleukin from binding to cell receptors, which contributes to a well-working and functioning immune system. Dupixent combats harmful bacterial viruses found inside our bodies and is administered once a week as an injection under the skin. You will need to be monitored by our specialists during your first hour to ensure no complications. Click here to learn more about Biologic Treatments.
